Tuuri is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Etelä-Pohjanmaa region. The name “Tuuri” originates in the old Finnish god of luck, harvest and success, Tuuri; he was the equivalent of Norse Thor and Estonian Taara. In Modern Finnish the appellative tuuri means luck. The village is known for the second biggest department store in Finland, Veljekset Keskinen.

The yellow palace-like facade of the huge department store is one of the first things most visitors to Tuuri see. The department store of Veljekset Keskinen plays a central role in the village and it is not possible to miss this huge building complex. There are in addition to the large store also restaurants and other stores to be found here. Please note that pets are only allowed upon request and subject to approval. The Market Street runs through the Kyläkauppa area, connecting the services on opposite sides and enabling all shopping from one parking spot.
